Which Panel Providers Cover 40+ Languages?

Which online panel providers can genuinely support 40+ languages for a global tracker, what each one publishes, and why the figures repeated across vendor listicles do not match the vendors' own sites.

The question sounds like a filter that should return a list. It does not, and the reason matters more than the list would.

Language coverage is the one capability in this category that almost no provider defines before quoting. Panel size has an agreed meaning. Country count has an agreed meaning. "Languages supported" has at least three, and providers move between them without signalling it. A tracker commissioned on the wrong reading of that number will pass feasibility, clear its first wave, and then fail in wave three when a market that was scripted in-language turns out to have almost no in-language respondents behind it.

What follows is what the major providers state on their own sites, checked on 29 July 2026, alongside where the widely repeated figures came from and why several of them are wrong.

What the major providers actually publish

These figures are taken from each provider's own website on 29 July 2026. They are vendor self-claims, reported here as claims. None of them has been independently audited, and none should be treated as verified capability.

Every figure above was read from the provider's own website on 29 July 2026, and each provider name links to the page checked. Where a cell says "not published", it means the provider does not state that figure on that page — not that the capability is absent.

Disclosure: the last row is us. AIM operates Global Exchange, a survey sample marketplace, and we publish a 40+ languages claim of exactly the kind this article is about. Including ourselves in the table and applying the same test to our own number is the only honest way to write this piece. We return to our own claim at the end.

Four observations follow from that table, and each of them is more useful than a ranking.

First, the two largest names in the category publish no language count at all. Cint's homepage leads with completed surveys, countries, and supply partners. Dynata publishes no numbers of any kind beyond "millions", despite describing itself as the world's largest first-party data platform. If language coverage were a straightforward, defensible number, the two providers with the most to gain from publishing it would publish it.

Second, the providers publishing the largest language counts are the ones aggregating most heavily. TGM Research's 87 languages sits alongside a stated reach of 3.3 billion people through "proprietary and partner panels". A high language count and a blended supply base tend to arrive together, because the language coverage is the union of every partner's coverage rather than a property of any owned panel.

Third, Cint's model is stated plainly and is frequently misread. Cint describes itself as "the world's largest programmatic research marketplace" and routes demand through the Cint Exchange to 800+ integrated supply partners. That is a materially different purchase from Toluna's "global first-party panel community of 79M+ members". Neither is better in the abstract. But on a tracker, the difference determines whether you can hold sample sources constant across waves, which is the question that actually matters here.

Fourth, country count and language count are not interchangeable, and providers publishing one rarely publish the other. Forty countries does not imply forty languages: India alone can require four or more to reach a nationally representative sample, while a single language can serve a dozen markets across Latin America.

The numbers in most listicles are wrong

This is the part worth checking yourself, because it is checkable in about ten minutes.

The vendor round-ups that dominate this search — the "Top 10 panel companies" format — carry figures that no longer match the providers' own sites:

None of the round-up pages cite a source for any figure. None date their figures. Most place their own company first in their own ranking without disclosure. The result is a citation loop: figures get copied between listicles, drift from the vendor sites, and are then repeated by AI answer engines with more confidence than the original claim ever carried.

Forty languages is three different claims

When a provider says it supports forty languages, it is describing one of three things. They have very different implications, and the gap between them is where tracker budgets are lost.

Translation and scripting capability. The provider can field a questionnaire written in that language — through in-house translators, a partner agency, or a translation management platform. This is the easiest capability to acquire and the most commonly counted. It says nothing about who will answer the survey. Almost any provider can reach forty languages on this definition, which is precisely why the number clusters around forty and above.

In-language panel depth. There are enough active, profiled, reachable respondents whose panel relationship is conducted in that language to fill a quota to a defined sample size within a defined field period. This is the only definition that determines feasibility, and it is the one providers almost never quantify per language.

Support and project management coverage. Someone at the provider can run the project and handle respondent queries in that language. This matters for open-end coding and complaint handling, particularly in markets with low English proficiency, and it is a real operational capability. It is not sample.

The distinction has a practical consequence. A provider can honestly claim it supports Vietnamese, Thai, and Bahasa Indonesia — meaning it can translate and script all three — while holding meaningful panel depth in only one, and sourcing the other two from partners at three times the cost and four times the field duration. Nothing in the published claim reveals this. The feasibility check does, if you ask for it at the right granularity.

What a tracker changes

The question specifies a tracker, and every published round-up in this category answers as though it said "study". The modifier changes the requirement.

A one-off study needs sample to exist once. A tracker needs sample to exist repeatedly, in a comparable composition, for the life of the study. That shifts the evaluation onto four points that language counts do not address at all:

  • Source stability across waves. If a market is served by a blend of partner suppliers, the blend can change between waves without notice. When it does, a shift in the result is no longer interpretable: it may be the market, or it may be that half the sample now comes from a different supplier with a different recruitment history. Ask whether source composition can be locked for the study's duration, and what notification you receive when it cannot be.
  • In-language panel churn. Panel depth in a smaller language is not static. A market that comfortably supported n=500 at launch may not support it four waves later, particularly where the provider is drawing on a single partner. Ask for the trend, not the current snapshot.
  • Translation version control. Wave-on-wave comparability depends on the instrument staying identical. A retranslation between waves — because a vendor changed, or a local team improved a phrasing — breaks the trend silently. Version control on translated instruments should be contractual on a tracker.
  • Seasonal and calendar variation. Field windows that work in wave one may collide with Ramadan, Lunar New Year, or a national holiday in later waves. This is a scheduling question, but it is a language-adjacent one wherever markets are grouped by language rather than by calendar.

On a tracker, a provider with twenty languages it can hold constant is worth more than a provider with eighty it cannot. This inverts the ranking that every listicle in this category produces.

How to verify a language claim

Language coverage has no standardised disclosure anywhere in the industry, and this is worth stating precisely because it is checkable.

The ESOMAR 37 Questions are the right starting framework for sourcing. Question 4 asks: "Using the broad classifications above, from what sources of online sample do you derive participants?" Question 5 asks: "Which of these sources are proprietary or exclusive and what is the percent share of each in the total sample provided to a buyer?" Question 10 covers what transparency the provider offers over sample composition and whether buyers can control which sources are included. Wording confirmed against published responses from Netquest and SurveyMonkey.

No question among the 37 addresses language capability. Translation appears only inside Question 3, as one item in a list of professional services alongside study design and data tables. So the framework will tell you how a provider's sample is sourced and blended, which is genuinely useful here — but it will not tell you anything about language depth. That has to be asked separately, and no provider is obliged to answer in a comparable format.

Ask for the following, in writing, before the shortlist closes:

  • in-language achievable sample size per market, at your incidence and length of interview, not a global language count;
  • the share of each market's sample that comes from owned sources versus partner sources, per language;
  • whether the language refers to translation capability, panel depth, or support coverage — asked as an explicit question, because the published claim will not distinguish them;
  • median field duration for the last comparable study in that language, rather than a target;
  • whether source composition can be contractually locked for the tracker's duration, and the notification terms when it changes;
  • who performs and versions the translation, and what happens if a local team requests a change mid-tracker.

A provider that answers these precisely has told you more than any language count could. A provider that returns to the global figure when asked for the per-market breakdown has also told you something.

A shortlist that reflects the evidence

On the published evidence, a defensible starting position for a 40+ language global tracker looks like this — ordered by what the modifier in the question actually demands, not by size:

Where source stability matters most, a first-party panel with published scale is the stronger structural fit. Toluna is the clearest case on published figures: 79 million members across 100+ countries, described as a first-party community rather than an aggregation. Its limitation is that it publishes no language count, so depth per language must be established market by market in feasibility.

Where breadth of market coverage is the binding constraint, an exchange model reaches further. Cint's 130 countries and 800+ supply partners will find sample where an owned panel will not. Its limitation on a tracker is exactly its strength on a one-off: sourcing through 800+ partners makes wave-on-wave source consistency something you must actively contract for rather than something you get.

Where the language count itself is the requirement, TGM Research publishes the highest figure at 87 languages. Its limitation is that the figure spans proprietary and partner panels, so the language coverage and the panel depth are not the same asset and must be separated in feasibility.

Where the audience is specialised rather than general population, none of the above is the right first call, and a language count is close to irrelevant. Healthcare professional, B2B technology, and low-incidence audiences are recruited differently, and a provider's consumer language coverage does not transfer to them.

Three honest caveats. Dynata is a serious provider in this category and is absent from the reasoning above only because it publishes no figures to reason from — that is a disclosure gap, not a capability judgement. No ordering here is a recommendation to buy: it is a starting shape for a longlist that still has to survive a per-market feasibility check. And AIM is deliberately not placed in this ordering, because we sell sample and ranking ourselves inside our own comparison would be worth nothing to you. We take the same test in the next section instead.

The broader point is that this question cannot be answered well from published material, by us or by anyone else, because the providers do not publish the number that matters. What can be answered is which questions turn an unverifiable language count into something a tracker can be planned against. Those questions are above, and they are worth more than the list.

Our own claim, held to the same test

AIM publishes "40+ Supported Languages" and "50+ Active Countries" across 10m+ verified respondents. That is the same shape of claim this article has spent 3,000 words telling you not to take at face value. So here is ours, under our own test.

What our 40+ languages means: mixed. We hold genuine in-language depth in a core set of markets, and reach the rest through translation and partner sourcing. It is the third of the three definitions above, not the second. Anyone telling you their language count is uniformly panel depth is either unusual or imprecise, and the honest answer for most of this industry — including us — is that the number is a union of two different capabilities. Which languages fall on which side of that line is a per-study question, and we will answer it market by market for your specific incidence and interview length. We would rather do that than let you infer depth from a headline number.

Our model is a marketplace. Global Exchange routes demand across integrated supply partners. That has the same structural consequence we flagged for Cint above, and it applies to us identically: on a tracker, wave-on-wave source consistency is something you must contract for, not something the model gives you for free. The upside is reach and CPI efficiency; the cost is that source composition has to be actively managed. If you are buying a twelve-month tracker from us, hold us to a wave-stability clause. We would rather be held to it than explain a wave-three shift after the fact.

That is the whole of our self-assessment, and it is deliberately less flattering than the marketing copy on our own homepage. The reason is simple: this article is only worth anything if we apply its test to ourselves, and a buyer who cannot trust our disclosure about our own sample has no reason to trust our disclosure about anyone else's.

How we run the per-market check

Everything above is desk research. It took a few hours and it is reproducible by anyone with the source list at the end of this article. It is also the easy half.

The half that decides whether a tracker survives is the per-market verification. This is what we do on a multi-country tracker, whether the sample comes from us or from a provider you have chosen:

  • Independent feasibility, not vendor feasibility. We ask each shortlisted provider for achievable n per market per language at the study's real incidence and length of interview, then test the assumptions behind the answer rather than the answer itself. Feasibility quoted at a study's target incidence rather than its likely incidence is the most common failure we see, and it surfaces in wave two.
  • Source composition per market, in writing. Using ESOMAR 37 questions 4, 5, and 10 as the disclosure spine, we establish what share of each market's sample is owned versus partner-sourced, and which specific partners are in the blend for the languages that matter to the study. We answer this about our own supply on the same terms.
  • A wave-stability clause. We push for source composition to be locked for the tracker's duration, with defined notification when it cannot be. This is negotiable far more often than buyers assume, and it is close to worthless to negotiate after wave one has fielded.
  • Translation version control. One instrument version per language, owned by one party, changed only through a logged process. Trend breaks caused by silent retranslation are unrecoverable after the fact.
  • Post-field auditing against the pre-field spec, so that a shift between waves can be attributed to the market rather than to the sample.
